Medical conferences usually move in that steady almost predictable rhythm you know. Long talks that drag on a bit, quiet note taking with pens scratching away, and those short coffee breaks where everyone kind of flocks to the lounge clutching their cups before the next session kicks off. During one of those breaks I remember someone just placed a small box on the table. It was Mission Scribbles by Copper Clues. Neat little thing.

At first it was pure curiosity pulling us in. A few of us opened it and started looking through the cue cards, that tiny stack of game coins that felt surprisingly solid, and the spiral drawing pad tucked in there too. Someone said why not try one quick round before the next lecture. Sounded harmless enough.

Coins went right in the center of the table and one person grabbed a cue card. Only the performer got to look at it. The rest of us were completely clueless.

We tore pages straight from the spiral pad and everyone held their sheet ready with pens poised like we were about to create masterpieces. The performer started acting it out silently with arms waving wildly and face full of exaggerated expressions while we tried to make sense of whatever was happening.

Within seconds the table turned into total chaos.

One person drew something that looked like a potato with legs. Another sketch looked like it might be a helicopter or maybe a teapot. The performer kept acting more dramatically as if that would somehow guide our drawings in the right direction.

It did not.

The round ended and not one drawing matched the clue. A coin slid across the table with a soft clink and the whole group burst into laughter that was definitely louder than the lounge expected.

The funniest part was watching very serious professionals defend their drawings. One person pointed at a sketch and explained it like it was a scientific diagram. Another insisted the acting itself had been misleading.

Soon a small crowd gathered around the table. More pages were torn from the spiral pad and the coins kept moving back and forth as the rounds continued.

Then someone looked at their watch and quietly said the next session was starting. Coins were gathered, cue cards went back into the box, and everyone walked back into the conference hall still smiling.

For the rest of the day there were quiet jokes in the corridors about those strange drawings and how a simple little game somehow managed to steal the biggest laughs at a medical conference.
